My cat has cancer of the ear (sarcoma) and the vet says we need to remove his ear. I have an appt for a couple weeks and will get more info regarding this at that time, but has anyone had to remove the cat’s ear bc of sarcome? How much did the ENTIRE thing cost? (Surgery, any meds, etc). I live in a high priced city, so I’m sure it will be higher than most places, so if you can include the area you are in, that would be helpful.

Never had it done, but assuming it is just the ear flap being removed and they don’t have to do anything more invasive (ie cutting into the skin on the top of the head or getting into the ear canal etc then the procedure is simple and non-invasive so my guess would be the price would be comparable to the cost of a routine neuter in your area. (not a lot of skill or time involved to just remove an ear flap) If you are seeing prices a lot higher than that I would recommend questioning why.
