We have a male cat about 4 years old that is primarily an outdoor cat, but occassionally comes inside.
We also have a female cat about 3 years old that is primarily an indoor cat, but occassionally goes outside.
My teenage daughter wants to get an Alaskan Huskie pureberd puppy, but I have some concerns about how she (female puppy) would get alone with the two cats.
Issues will include that we won’t be home a lot during the daytime and that our cats have a mind of their own.

You should have no problem with a very young puppy. The dog doesn’t know that it’s supposed to not like cats yet, and the cats are old enough to be careful. They will certainly take some time getting used to each other, but they will adjust. I assume you have a kitty door so the cats can go in and out on their own? That would make it so much better for the cats!
